Schaeffler with its brands INA, LuK, and FAG has an extraordinarily broad wealth of expertise and all modern technologies needed to achieve the highest levels of economy and precision in manufacturing. This ranges from the high-volume production that predominantly takes place in the Automotive division through to project-based business in Industrial and Aerospace.

In more than 70 plants across the globe, we manufacture high-precision products every day, ranging from 2 mm drawn cup needle roller bearings right through to large rolling bearings with diameters measuring 4.25 meters.
Our Schweinfurt location, for example, is home to one of the world's largest roll ring forges. Here alone, 80,000 tons of steel are processed every year. At our Herzogenaurach location, more than 520 million finished parts per year are manufactured from 45,000 tons of steel.

Schaeffler with its brands INA, LuK, and FAG is one of the sector's technological leaders in the areas of cold-forming technology, forging technology, machining, heat treatment, coating technology, and assembly.

Deep drawing, which is a cold-forming process, is among INA and FAG's core technologies. Our unmatched expertise in the manufacture of high-precision products using forming methods enables us to produce customer-specific solutions in high volumes at an excellent price-performance ratio.

All operations that are relevant to quality, e.g. the grinding and honing (ultrafine grinding) of the inner and outer rings of rolling bearings, are carried out in-house. We have a range of assembly facilities at our disposal - from lean, flexible Chaku-Chaku lines through to highly complex, fully automated production lines - to suit the requirements of the product and the market. This allows us to ensure the consistently high quality standard of our products. In Aerospace, we even go a step further: All stages in the manufacture of every single bearing here are documented and archived.

The increasing complexity of our products in particular - with a wide range of high-precision individual components - requires new production and assembly concepts. Our own Special Machinery and Tool Shop departments work with the production technology specialists to develop and implement solutions that are precisely tailored to suit the requirements of our production facilities. We can thus manufacture in a flexible and economical way.

With the Schaeffler production system, which is very closely based on the idea of lean production, we are continuously making improvements to our quality and delivery reliability - and therefore increasing customer satisfaction - with integrated planning across the entire supply chain combined with lean production technologies and facilities, with a customized operational and organizational structure, and with qualified and independently responsible employees.
